— Artist statement

My paintings are visual records of moments and emotions too complex to keep contained. I am often inspired by memories of my grandmother shaping large clay pots by hand and firing them over an open flame — an experience that first sparked my connection to making with my hands. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, I build layers of line, texture, and color to translate restless energy and unspoken emotion into form. Each piece begins intuitively, often with a gesture or color that feels instinctively right, and evolves through movement and process. Through my work, I aim to create an emotional resonance that feels both personal and universal — inviting viewers to experience the same intensity, memory, and feeling embedded in the act of creation, like recalling a memory that never had words.
