"My art is a reflection of my journey, a fusion of traditional and contemporary expressions. As a painter, printmaker, and sculptor, I explore themes of identity, culture, and the human condition, using vibrant colors and textures to evoke emotions and spark conversations. Through various mediums, I strive to capture the essence of our shared humanity, inviting viewers to reflect, question, and connect."
— Artist statement
What drives my practice is the way color, form, and people catch my attention in everyday life. A gesture, an expression, the way light hits skin, the texture of peeling paint, the way water moves. I’m drawn to these details in both people and place, and I want to translate them into work that others can feel too. At the core, I’m driven by communication. I want my practice to speak directly, whether I’m drawing from a human moment or a quiet scene. If someone looks at a piece and recognizes a mood, a memory, or a sense of calm, that connection is the goal. The therapeutic side of art also plays a big role. Making is how I work through things. It slows me down, it focuses me, it gives shape to thoughts that are hard to put into words. The process itself is restorative, and that matters as much as the finished piece. So my practice sits at the intersection of observation, connection, and healing. I make because I notice people and the world they move through, because I want to share that noticing, and because the act of making helps me stay grounded. Want me to push this more toward figurative work if people are your main focus now?
