Looking Without Seeing”.
Ben mbuyuluLooking Without Seeing explores the difference between observing and truly perceiving. We can look at the world every day without noticing what lies beneath its surface. The work reflects on blindness that is not necessarily physical, but emotional, psychological, or spiritual. The covered gaze becomes a symbol of denial, illusion, and the things we sometimes choose not to see. Through the veil and the human figure, the painting invites the viewer to question perception: What do we really see, and what do we refuse to see? It is a reflection on truth, awareness, and the hidden realities that exist beyond appearances.
